The first Savaria International Dancing Tournament was organized in 1966, and the best competitors of the dancing sport have shown their knowledge and expertise in Latin and Standard dances ever since in front of a very strict professional jury. The four decade-long history of the event has deservedly won the acclaim of the most reputable professional circles, and had made the city of Szombathely internationally known as the dance capital of the world. A relevant prove of this is the vivid dance-life of the city: dance education here starts as early as at nursery school.

Fiery rhythm, the perfect harmony between the dancing couples, the beautiful dance costumes and the gracious movements all contribute to the fact that the event takes place at full house, although the venue itself is very large.

The dancing tournament of oldest traditions in the country will be held in 2010 on 12-13th June in AGORA-Cultural and Sportshouse of Szombathely.
